TRAVELLERS TALES
=========================================
After our tours were over in Provence Jim and I rested up at Cassis a delightful little
seaside port not far from Marseille. Cassis is the home of Bouillabaisse, a typically
Provencale fish soup, so we sampled our way around the village. It would seem there are
endless varieties of Bouillabaisse and each version declared the more authentic than any
other. After Cassis we travelled up into Haute Provence where the lavender grows most
prolifically.
Driving down yet another absolutely gorgeous, winding country road, we followed a tiny
sign to a beautiful old abbey set high upon a windswept hilltop. Here we found a
magnificent rose garden and a chapel being restored. Definitely a long labour built on a
love of things ancient. The abbey was built in the middle ages and slowly it is being
restored to its former grandeur. The vault in the chapel had been completed, right down to
the the finest guilding on the archetraves and the altar was made of a hand hewn slab of
marble. Sitting upon it flanked by candleabra was one of the most beautiful rose quartz
crystals I have ever seen.
At the opposite end, high above the chapel door was a small round window. Each year on the
day of the winter solstice the sun shines through the window, pouring its golden light
directly onto the altar, lighting up the rose quartz crystal. The photos we were shown of
this event were amazing. Incredible to know that they worked out all those measurements in
the 13th century.
BALI WOMEN'S RETREAT
=========================================
The Bali Women's Retreat will be going ahead next year as planned. We have had such great
feedback about it that I can hardly wait to return to Bali next year and create yet
another magical voyage of self discovery for all who join us.
"The Bali Women's Retreat was the most holistic life experience I have ever had the
pleasure to enjoy"

LOST IN AUSTRALIA
=========================================
One original key to the gates of the Bastille! Recently the key was stolen ( Oh dear!)
while on display in Madame Tassaud's travelling waxwork exhibition down under. Happily it
was handed in to a Sydney chapel a month later. I guess they couldn't find a lock that
fit!
