WELCOME
=========================================
A warm welcome to the 1350 plus readers of our Aroma Tours newsletter.
We trust that your year has started off on a lively and positive note and
that 2001 will be a year of happiness and abundance.
At last we have some time to reflect on the year just past which once
again, has been blessed with many great memories of special people,
inspiring places and memorable experiences.
If you haven't visited our site for a while we invite you to drop by at

PROVENCE A WONDERFUL YEAR
===========================================
Jim and I both agree that we had our best ever Provence Aromatherapy
Retreat last year due to the combination of the wonderful people in the
group, inspirational teachings, the people and places we visited,
serendipity, our delightful setting and lots of care and good humour all
round.
One of the unforgettable highlights for many of us was a very special
evening at our local cafe.
The previous owner had left since our last visit in 1999 and when we
arrived
for pastis and coffee the new owner, Patrick - with a wonderful cheery
smile - greeted us warmly and we were soon relaxing and enjoying the
lovely
evening and chatting with some of the locals.
However, it was when Jim asked if there was any music, that something
truly
amazing happened. Patrick disappeared and returned with a medium sized
wooden box with a large handle on one side. We soon discovered that
Patrick had been a cabaret performer of considerable renown in Paris for
many years and that the box was in fact a reed organ that takes punched
music rolls and makes the most wonderful music.
With Patrick's amazing voice and ability to entertain, we felt truly
blessed
to be in such a lovely place in the French countryside and witness to such
superb entertainment. Patrick enthralled us with his music, we danced and
chatted with the locals and hardly wanted the night to end.

TURKEY TOUR INCLUDES 2 DOMESTIC FLIGHTS
=======================================
We have noticed a small mistake in the itinerary for the Turkish Rose
Tour.
There are 2 domestic flights Istanbul => Cappadocia and Dalaman =>
Istanbul, to keep our travel by coach to a minimum while still getting to
visit all of the highlights we have planned.
The second flight was not shown in the last day's itinerary details but we
would like to confirm that it is included as part of the tour.
More details are available at http://www.aroma-tours.com/turkish-tour.htm
KARUNYA TRUST
======================================
For many years Robbi has been supporting the Karunya Trust Children's Home
in Southern India through tithing some of the proceeds of her Women's
Seminars and by creating sumptuous raffles.
Karunya is supported by friends from many different countries, all with
the
loving desire to help children in need. Aroma Tours is proud to be
supporting the ongoing wonderful work of the people at Karunya and a
donation from each booking we receive will be paid directly to the Karunya
Trust.
For your interest there is some information about the Karunya Trust on our
web site at http://www.aroma-tours.com/karunya.htm
SAVOIR FLAIR BY POLLY PLATT
=======================================
For those joining us in France this year we have found a fabulous book
called "Savoir Flair - 211 tips for enjoying France and the
French" by Polly
Platt.
This little book is a true gem with all the rules you need to know about
how
to play the game of life when in France. Perceptive, witty and very
entertaining! You'll love it!
AUSTRALIAN AROMATHERAPY RETREAT
=======================================
At last all is in readiness for our Australian Aromatherapy Retreat 23rd
-
30th October. We have a wonderful new itinerary and are proud to announce
that Sal Battaglia world-renowned aromatherapy educator and author of the
hugely popular "Complete Guide to Aromatherapy" has agreed to
join us for 2
full days of teaching. We will also be joined by Mark Webb, Australian
native oils expert and author of "Bush Scents".
During the Australian Retreat, Robbi will be presenting some of her work
on
Aromatic Kinesiology which she presented at the NAHA Aromatherapy
Conference in Seattle last October. She is also off to Hong Kong to teach
Aromatic Kinesiology in April.
We will also meet with master distillers and growers, visit fields of
aromatic plants, an essential oil laboratory and production facility, have
close encounters with Australian wildlife, experience aboriginal culture
and
natural medicine, visit rainforests, beautiful beaches, dolphin watching
as
well as many samplings of our fine cuisine and wines.

BAIN DE VIN
==================================
The French and their inventiveness never cease to amaze, especially when
it
comes to serious matters such as wine and the pursuit of beauty. What
could
be better than a visit to the Graves region of Bordeaux for a vinotherapie
treatment, were you will find a range of anti-ageing and slimming
treatments, and products based on extracts from wine, vines and grape
seeds.
Mineral health spas are popular in France and there are quite a number
dotted around the countryside, where those with maladies spend sometimes a
week or more "taking the waters" for their rejuvenating effects.
But now for those with an eye for looking there best there is the
possibility of relaxing in a jacuzzi seasoned with grape seed extract and
afterwards being wrapped in wine and honey [ yum ]. And while your about
it
why not imbibe a little of the Bordeaux appellations as well.
It seems that the French paradox is alive and well for both the inner and
outer you.
OFF TO BALI
==================================
Robbi and I are off to Bali tomorrow to finalize things for the retreat in
September and to enjoy some time out under that glorious tropical sun. For
those recently joining the newsletter there is a nice description of the
Bali Women's Retreat in our September 99 newsletter. at
